Brown Gyal Diary, in collaboration with Sarita NauthThe Glamorous Social Media Maven — brought its first wellness event to New York City. Glow & Flourish took place on Saturday, September 20, at The Figure Studio in Queens, offering a transformative day of empowerment, culture, and community.

This one-day gathering, which took place on Saturday, Sept. 20, at The Figure Studio in South Ozone Park, NY created an intimate and uplifting space for Indo Caribbean women. With a thoughtfully curated program, attendees explored the power of storytelling, affirmations, and cultural connection while building meaningful bonds with like-minded women.

The Experience

Workshops: Holistic Healing Through Writing and Roots & Radiance guided participants through practices of reclaiming their voice, setting boundaries, and embracing their Indo-Caribbean identity. These workshops highlighted the importance of healing for women — a vital space where vulnerability was welcomed, emotions were honored, and self-care was embraced. Many attendees shared that, as Caribbean women, they often felt culturally expected to be strong; this workshop provided a rare opportunity to be fully seen, express emotions freely, and reconnect with their inner selves.

Keynote: Sarita Nauth shared her personal and professional journey, drawing from her experience leading social media strategies at VH1, BET and MTV. Her keynote explored themes of culture, confidence and digital storytelling, inspiring women to embrace their unique narratives and celebrate their accomplishments.

Community: Beyond the sessions, guests enjoyed refreshments, a catered lunch for VIP ticket holders, and shopped at the Caribbean vendor market, deepening connections within a supportive, empowering community.

Glow & Flourish was more than just a wellness workshop. It became a safe, nurturing space for Indo Caribbean women to celebrate their culture, share their stories, honor their emotions and step into a community built on empowerment, healing, and growth.
