Lights. Camera. Reggae.
That’s the theme—and the energy—set to electrify South Florida as Island SPACE Caribbean Museum kicks off Reggae Month 2026 with its most ambitious celebration yet: the Reggae Genealogy Music Festival, happening Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Volunteer Park in Plantation, Florida.
With more than 3,000 attendees expected, the festival promises an immersive, multimedia experience that traces reggae’s powerful influence far beyond music—into film, television, gaming and global pop culture. This year’s production elevates reggae as not just a sound, but a cinematic force that continues to shape storytelling and identity worldwide.

Honoring Reggae Royalty
At the heart of the festival is a moving tribute to three legendary Jamaican artists whose contributions have defined generations. Each will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of their lasting impact on global music culture:
Mr. Vegas – International dancehall icon and hitmaker behind anthems like “Heads High” and “Nike Air”
Sly Dunbar – Grammy-winning drummer and one half of the groundbreaking duo Sly & Robbie, whose rhythms reshaped modern music
Leroy Sibbles – Foundational reggae artist, bassist and unmistakable voice of The Heptones

A Star-Studded Cultural Experience
Hosted by acclaimed Jamaican actress Audrey Reid, the festival’s main stage will feature dynamic live performances by Tifa, Phil Watkis, Roy G and Bobby Rose, backed by the high-energy Code Red Band. The vibes continue with music selections from Bigg G and DJ King Mega, ensuring the soundtrack stays electric from start to finish.
But Reggae Genealogy goes far beyond the stage.
