Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine Marks 5 Years of Empowering Women and Redefining Representation

The first-ever beauty platform created for Indo-Caribbean women marked a milestone of cultural pride and creative empowerment this past Saturday, Oct. 26. Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine — the first publication dedicated to Indo-Caribbean women — celebrated its fifth anniversary, marking years of redefining beauty and elevating underrepresented Indo Caribbean voices.

Since its founding, the magazine has built a vibrant community centered on celebrating diversity, culture and identity, spotlighting the stories, artistry and beauty of Indo-Caribbean women.

To commemorate the milestone, the publication hosted a photo mixer event, where Chandool reflected on her journey, the reason behind the magazine’s creation and her mission to elevate Indo-Caribbean women’s voices in the beauty space.

“I founded Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine because I wanted representation — but it was more than that,” Chandool said. “I thought of my parents and how maybe, if they had seen others like them pursuing creative paths, they might have felt that they belonged too. I wanted to create the kind of visibility that says we can do this too. Art, beauty and storytelling are not luxuries — they’re part of how we understand ourselves,” Chandool says.

Like many creatives and entrepreneurs, Chandool’s journey was not linear. She rebranded after realizing she wanted to expand her focus beyond bridal content. Reflecting on that shift, she described how and why she pivoted from Indo-Caribbean Bride to Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine.

“I started Indo-Caribbean Bride at a time when I wanted to celebrate love, the colors, the ceremonies and the beauty of our weddings,” Chandool said. “But over time, I realized I’m an artist first and a business owner second. There’s so much beauty in our culture beyond weddings — in our women, our rituals, our language and our everyday existence. That’s what led me to create Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine — to tell stories that reflect the fullness of who we are.”

As part of the celebration, Chandool invited a team of Indo Caribbean creatives and brands to participate in the milestone event. The celebration featured:

As Indo-Caribbean Beauty Magazine reaches its five-year milestone, it stands as a symbol of legacy — one built on creativity, resilience and community.

“Reaching five years means more than longevity; it means legacy,” Chandool said.

“Indo-Caribbean Beauty has grown because of the women who believed in it, modeled for it, wrote for it and shared it. This milestone belongs to all of us.”
