Shanida Carter

Shanida enjoys writing about culture, parenting, and travel. She also created and produces Trinity Travels, a family travel vlog on Instagram that can be seen on Fox 29 Philadelphia. Shanida is the director of marketing and communications at Rutgers University Law School in New Jersey. Previously, she was an executive producer and a news producer for two decades, during which she earned an Emmy nomination. She has also written articles for Huffington Post, USA Today, Richmond Times-Dispatch, Poughkeepsie Journal, Amsterdam News, Queens Chronicle, and Reuters. Shanida holds a B.A. in journalism from Virginia Union University, an HBCU, and an M.A. in broadcast journalism and Latin American and Caribbean studies from New York University. Additionally, she was selected to be a grand marshal in the 2018 Jersey City Caribbean Carnival parade where she proudly represented her Panamanian and Trinidadian heritage.
